Helicopter Post

Yet the helicopter represents another form of air transportation. In Switzerland, significant use of helicopters is made in transporting supplies and construction materials to remote mountain sites. The first Swiss Helicopter Post carried mail from Zürich city to the airports at Kloten and Dubendorf in 1948.

To celebrate 30 years of airmail stamps in Liechtenstein, a special airmail flight was conducted from Vaduz to Zürich. Because Liechtenstein has no fixed wing airport, the flight had to be made by helicopter.
