Fraudulent Usage

To the postman and the casual observer the stamp on this cover looks completely normal. It seemed unlikely that someone would attempt to forge these engraved stamps. Producing engraved forgeries would be too expensive and to use a different printing process would result in obvious forgeries. Instead, close examination will reveal that the “stamp” is actually composed of the uncancelled left 60% of one stamp and the uncancelled 40% of another. Someone had too much time on his or her hands!

The addressee has been obscured to provide privacy of the innocent recipient and generous donor.
