AHPS Sales Circuit Notes

2001 was the second year in a row in which the number of circuits posted fell below the target of 15-20.  We had seven, including some very nice soldier stamps, good commercial covers and postal cards, extensive se tenant and tête-bêche, telegraph and railroad stamps, and more.  Lack of material made it impossible to post more.

Prospective Sellers: Seventy-three members are currently signed up as willing buyers for anywhere from one to all forty of the philatelic categories listed in the Circuit participation Form.   To meet demand, we need more members to submit material for sale especially tête-bêche and se tenant, postage dues, Campione,   good quality covers of  all   categories (except post-1960 FDCs), and officials.   Submissions of any of the other categories we handle are also welcome.   Sales books are 40 or 75 cents each postpaid depending on size (minimum order $1.50) and AHPS charges only 12% commission on sales.   Commissions after expenses are returned to the AHPS treasury.

Prospective Buyers: AHPS circuits are specialized.   They  usually contain mostly material from only one or two related categories of the forty itemized in the Circuit Participation Form.  If you want postage dues, for example, the circuit you receive will likely have mostly postage dues with perhaps some franchise stamps.   If you request Helvetias of any other category, the circuits you receive will not be loaded with a lot of stuff in which you have no interest.   Material included in most circuits ranges in price form 10 or 20 cents per item to $100 or more, usually with a nice distribution and something for everyone.  Thanks to the strength of the US Dollar against the Swiss franc, sellers have modified their prices compared to the past several years.  Year 2002 will be a good time to buy.

Prospective Buyers and Sellers:   All AHPS members are eligible to become buyers and/or sellers in AHPS circuits.  Complete information on circuit buying and selling procedures is available in the Circuit Participation Form, which should be requested from the circuit manager.  Phone calls for answers to specific questions are also welcome.

Participation in circuit sales as either a buyer or seller not only helps the member but also contributes to the AHPS treasury.   Get on board!
